Putin + the GOP = True Love. . .

Because they have common goals.

Putin would like:

  • Civil War in the U.S.
  • Ukraine blamed for the 2016 DNC hack.
  • U.S. to become a Russian style oligarchy.

Trump wants to BE a Russian style oligarch.

America’s far right wing has been talking about Civil War for some time. See this Washington Post article. And:

Trump’s tweet suggesting a “Civil War like fracture” if he’s impeached didn’t come out of the blue.

As Asha reminded everyone on Twitter, Civil War in the event the “Democrats” impeach Trump has been a Kremlin talking point for a while:

The GOP-Russia love affair has been evident for some time. Last summer Tucker Carlson said the U.S. should “rethink America’s alliances.”

And remember when Sen. Rand Paul went to Moscow to “open lines of communication“?

Guiliani attended a pro-Russia conference last year.

He was about to attend another when the Ukraine scandal exploded and he abruptly cancelled.

The love goes deep. Katie Hopkins, with Ann Coulter sitting near her, says “Putin rocks.” She praises Russia as being “untouched by the myth of multiculturalism and deranged diversity.

Putin’s regime, remember, is built on homophobia and fear of those who are different.

Remember Paul Hasson, they guy who planned to mass murder liberals? I was struck by a phrase on page 3 of the Motion for his Pre-Trial Detention.

Hassen talked of “Looking to Russia with hopeful eyes . . .”

For decades now, Russia has been “beckoning” to America’s far right wing, presenting Russia as the savior of white majority rule. (Timothy Snyder’s word)

This includes Russians infiltrating the NRA and helping radicalize the NRA as a right wing extremist group—but that’s for another post.

People assume that the GOP kowtows to Russia because they’re compromised.

I suggest that the alliance is based on mutual beliefs.

Both can be true, of course. Russia can also possess compromising material on GOP members. But why use it on their allies?

Seems the plan all along was for the Trump-FOX-GOP to move the US away from NATO and into a closer alliance with Russia

The GOP would rather have Putin-style oligarchy than an expansion of liberal democracy in America.

When Jim Jordan, Giuliani, and other Trump Team members furiously defend Trump’s call with Zelensky, they know they’re also defending Russia.

And they’re OK with that.
